How to Wear the Flying Cross Men's 4-Button Coat
a. Design. The coat will be made from an approved specification or pattern.
b. General description. The coat is a single-breasted, peak-lapel, four-button coat extending below the crotch, fitting easily over the chest and shoulders,
with a slight draped effect in the front and back. The coat is fitted slightly at the waist, conforming to body shape without tightness and with no
prominent flare.
c. Coat sleeve ornamentation.
• Buttons - Chaplain Assistant: Choose the Silver S Button
• Buttons - Chaplain: Choose the Gold S Button
• Buttons - Crisis Response: Choose the Gold Star of Life Button
• General officers. The sleeve has a band of gold mohair, polyester, or mercerized cotton braid, 1 1/2 inches wide, sewn on each sleeve with the lower
edge parallel to, and 3 inches above, the bottom edge of each sleeve. (1 band is worn for every 5 years of CI Service)
• Other officers. The sleeve has a band of gold mohair, polyester, or mercerized cotton braid, 3/4 inch wide, sewn on each sleeve with the lower
edge parallel to, and 3 inches above, the bottom edge of each sleeve.
• Enlisted personnel. On the sleeve is worn band of gold mohair, polyester, or mercerized cotton slash bars, 3/4 inch wide, sewn on each sleeve with
the lower edge parallel to, and 3 inches above, the bottom edge of each sleeve.
• Enlisted personnel. Chevrons that are worn on the sleeves of the Chaplains International Service Class A Uniform to be embroidered with golden-light
material on a blue background that matches the color of the sleeve material. The chevrons for the Chaplains International Service Uniform, are
worn on the Coat (Class A).
